Federal Government Shutdown Impact on SCACD Agreements
The South Carolina Association of Conservation Districts (SCACD) would like to inform Conservation District leaders that, due to the Federal Government entering a shutdown period, all reimbursement submissions through the Contribution Agreement and Cooperative Agreement must be paused at this time.
Because both agreements are federally funded, Conservation Districts will be unable to submit hours for reimbursement until the shutdown has been resolved and Federal funding is restored. It is important to note that no reimbursements can be made for hours worked during the shutdown period, which began on October 1, 2025, and will remain in effect until further notice.
Districts may choose to continue operations as normal if they have the financial capacity to do so. However, work that is federally related should be paused during the shutdown. Once Federal operations resume, SCACD will provide updated guidance and instructions for resuming submissions.
We understand that this situation may cause inconvenience, and we appreciate your patience and cooperation. SCACD remains committed to supporting the work of Conservation Districts and will continue to share updates as the situation develops.
If you have questions or need clarification, please contact the SCACD office for assistance.
Thank you for your continued dedication to conservation in South Carolina.
