Updated Awards and Recognition Nomination Process for 2025

We are excited to share the slightly revamped SCACD Awards and Recognition Nomination process for 2025. Please note that all nominations must be received by Tuesday, November 18, 2025, to be considered. If you plan to mail your nominations, be sure to send them at least one week in advance to ensure they arrive on time.

This year, the award categories have been updated to include three new honors:

  • The SCACD Young Professional Award
  • The Hugh Hammond Bennett Award
  • The John Parris Partnership Award

As in previous years, the larger awards packet has been divided into individual packets with fillable PDF applications. This update is designed to simplify both the submission and judging processes.

When completing your applications, please keep the following guidance in mind:

  • Each nomination must include both the cover sheet and the application (found in the awards packet).
  • Electronic files will be accepted as supplemental materials only. They will not be accepted in place of an application. Acceptable electronic materials include newsletters, scanned letters of recommendation, photo files, or Word documents. Please limit supplemental files to no more than two pages per application.
  • If submitting electronically, consolidate all files into one PDF for each nomination.

We also want to extend a special thank you to our 2025 Awards Judging Panel volunteers:

  • Mike Stewart – Chairman
  • Susan Birt – Edisto / Savannah Area Representative
  • Mary Burts – East Piedmont Area Representative
  • Art Garrison – West Piedmont Area Representative
  • Frances McClary – Pee Dee Area Representative
  • Odessa Armstrong – NRCS Representative
  • Brooke Myres – SC-DNR Representative
  • Sonya Terry – District Employee Representative

For questions about the nomination process, please contact Ann-Lamar Tuten, SCACD Executive Director, at atuten@scacd.org.

You can find the packets here.
