Joe Ghent Inducted into the Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame

We are proud to share that Joe Ghent of Lancaster, South Carolina, has been inducted into the Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame.
The Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame annually recognizes and honors individuals from across the region who have made a significant impact or lasting influence on conservation practices and partnerships at the local, state, territory, regional, or national levels.
Joe serves as a Commissioner with the Lancaster Soil and Water Conservation District and has dedicated many years to advancing conservation efforts across South Carolina. Now retired from Comporium Communications, Joe continues to serve his community through numerous leadership roles, including Chair of the Lancaster District, SCACD Watershed Director Liaison, Chair of the SCACD Land Use, Water Quality and Research Policy Committee, and as a representative for both the Northeast Pee Dee Drought Management Area for SCDNR and the Catawba Wateree Management Group Advisory Committee.
Beyond his professional and volunteer service, Joe is an Elder at New Cut Evangelical Presbyterian Church and a strong advocate for conservation education and best management practices statewide. He enjoys hunting, fishing, spending time along South Carolina’s low country and coastline, and being with family and friends.
Inductees into the Southeast Region Conservation Hall of Fame are honored each year during the annual Southeast Region Meeting, where their achievements are celebrated among peers and partners from across the region.
Please join us in congratulating Joe Ghent on this outstanding achievement and thanking him for his continued dedication to conservation in South Carolina.
